You know you do Comp115 when...

...When the crucial hours before due date of an Assignment, every time you hit that Exposé key in your Mac, you see this:

And now, the end is here

 And so I face the final curtain...

Geez, this makes me feel old. o.O

Well my editable grid is a fail. I will fail.

My only hope is the final exam.

All I've got is a dysfunctional grid. Sure, I can display my array. I just can't do anything with my grid. I can't drag a letter. I can right click so it can display letters in like every cell, which I'm pretty sure.. is not what it's supposed to do.

Assignment 3: The editable grid

Third assignment up, due Tuesday 10:00pm. OMG Why oh why is it due 10pm? Can't it be due on a Wednesday morning or something? How on earth am I meant to pull near-all nighters if it's due at night?

You shall all suffer with me muahahahaha.

Today, Sunday 2pm:

So I finally got grids to work. The problem is I can't think of arrays and the grid drawing (using nested loops) as separate. They're one thing, aren't day? If you want to drag a letter, it belongs to a cell.... And the cell uses the grid design... ?? =S
Argh. I shall update later.

edit- 9pm, still Sunday

-.- This is awesome. I've made no progress. I'm feeling awfully cynical today. I'll probably fail all my units. :(

edit- Monday, 5:57 am

Need to have breakfast soon, then I'll work all day today and tomorrow.
I need to re-do my grid.I can sorta understand strings now, except I can't relate it to arrays. >.<

-edit- monday, 9:58 am

This is driving me NUTS. What the hell? I could display letters in my string now using charAt. I just don't get how I'm meant to incorporate this into an array... Take for insance, if  I had:

 for (int i = 0; i < letters.length; i++)
  {
    for (int j = 0; j < letters.length; j= ' ')
    {
      letters[i][j] = (s.charAt(nthNumber));
}
}

Where am I meant to put the function for nth Number? I tried inserting a for loop in various places to add 1 to the Nth number, but it doesn't work.. =/

-edit- Monday 8:34 pm

A very helpful person helped me in a forum and pointed me in the right direction, bless him.

My problem was that I wasn't sure how to incorporate 2D arrays with strings.
To anyone who finds it difficult, this might help: (or might help me revise in my final exams)
1.) First, understand charAt(num). It's just an indexing system. It's not hard or anything.
2.) Know for loops so you can add +1 to num to display the next character in the string.

That was where my knowledge was lacking. I could only think of arrays and strings as separate things. For some reason, I keep thinking of nested loops when I try to display the letters, the way I did with rectangles. I was wrong in that respect.
I just needed to place my array inside my for loop. :D

edit- Mon, 9:41pm

Can anyone say epic fail?

edit- Monday, 9:55 pm

O.o

Now my grid wants to play hide and seek. Really not in the mood, Mr. Grid.

It disappears from the grid after. I know it's because it's under draw() but my grid doesn't show up if I put it elsewhere... =/

Arrays

Trying to learn arrays.

Urgh. I don't get it.

Assignment due Tuesday. Just starting.

Cramming- the art of the Lazy

Woohoo back to cramming. Aching backs, tired eyes, headaches, you name it. Subject? DEMOGRAPHY. You all know I hate it. At least it's not like Digital Fundamentals or Comp115. Formulas and info and memorising I can deal with. Hopefully.

I'm back to cramming 5 weeks of lecture notes into my head.  Hmm... coffee....

No, it's not nearly as fun as it sounds. I'm still studying very slowly, but I think it's going to my head.
After my looong Wednesday when I was at home by 7.30, I fell asleep because I was so tired.  I had cup noodles for breakfast this morning. It wasn't much of a breakfast, because I had it on the bus.  That is like, the epitome of Asian-ness.

After the disaster which was Digital Fundamentals (partner did not come again today..Grr) and Comp115 where I apparently had not submitted my weekly prac (OMG how did this even happen?! I did not complete the 2-step submission process. Idiot.)

Printer wasn't working, which sucks. But I loaded them all into my Kindle, and I'm reading my lecture slides in it. It helps so much, because I'm not looking at the computer screen much. It works, guys.  :D You should try it. Maybe when you're in desperation when you're out of ink and are a cheapskate... or you want to save trees or something.

But yeah. I hate cramming. But at times like this, I got to stick to my only option. Now to study some more before my brain shuts down...

SO much things to do!

Doing my weekly prac due tomorrow now.
:(
Good thing about it, though, is that I can use objects now in my programming sub. xD I learnt it the hard way when my tutor pointed out all my mistakes.

But remember how I whine about writing those essays during the HSC? When I start my blog post with "Dear story, please write yourself"? I thought that ended with high school, but it seems now I want to say: "Dear code, please write yourself."

Also have an assignment due tomorrow for Digital Fundamentals. And I left my textbook in my locker!! I suppose I'll be fine with lecture notes, but it'll probably take me twice as long to get there.

Monday - need to start programming assignment.
-Need to study for Demography class quiz on Friday.

Tuesday - need to study for IT and Society quiz on Friday.

Wednesday - work on Comp115 assignment. Or die trying. Without seeking for codes in the internet. This will be really hard. :(

Thursday - study for Demography quiz.
- Comp115 assignment.
- quick look at it and society.

Friday - comp115 assignment.
Saturday- OMG need to study for Comp115 exam. And Digital Fundamentals.
--------------------------------------------------

This is soo hard. And it's a form of procrastination, but I never had so many things due at the same time, and this helps me sort my mind out. >.<

Go Jessica!

I've been following Jessica Sanchez's performance from the beginning, and I'm glad she's in the finals!

Woohoo it's another procrastinating day!

I've reverted back to my procrastinating habits. But I have a filter now! :D

Whenever I watch or read something, I think about finishing my assignment. At least I wasn't as bad as I was before.. I think. Oh well. Exam timetables are out. Does that mean I get less assignments? No. I think I just got even more assignments. Do they even want us to study during this period?!

I guess assignment = studying, but I want to review a lot of things I didn't review before and I'm stuck having to do present work.
